Day 1,
Genesis
After completing high school I have been forced into the world again as a student but also as a drone to work for others in order to earn my way around. Finding a job in these days of technology booming faster than you can keep up is not difficult but finding something you are passionate about and making a living through is. After two years of going to college to better my understanding of business and all it encompasses has helped me to make all of the decisions to this point. I was raised in a household where my mother built everything she has by striving in anything she does and persevering through the hard times has shown me what hard work can do. Throughout my childhood she has shown me that a good work ethic is the way to advance in this world. I took this knowledge out of highschool and used it to my best abilities and have had a few types of jobs from a bicycle mechanic to a professional wedding photographer and cinematographer to working with graphic design. Through the last six years of my life I have been fortunate enough to afford hobbies on the side such as airsoft and slacklining, but the ones that were much more technical seem to be my saving grace. As a cyclist I was encountered with an opportunity to design my own cycling jersey which required me to learn to use Adobe Illustrator. This useful ability seemed to have no application in my life as at the time I just a bicycle mechanic. As a job opportunity I saw the importance of the task that I found as menial and useful but not useful for me as being the one thing I am glad I took the time to learn (thanks Rich). This job is how I've been able to afford going to a better school therefor bettering my learning. Now through all of my hobbies and a job (that I am now more happy to have had than I already was) I have the skills that I need to continue through these tough times and not only survive but to thrive.I have spent time as a hobbyist learning to drive radio controlled short course trucks (competitively) and through that getting into radio controlled helicopters. The background I have from these areas has given me enough experience to take on an endeavor such as building a quadcopter. My friend owns a shop and pays a local guy to do aerial photography for his business. As a hobbyist I saw what he was using (and no offence to him in any way) and thought to myself that I would have done it quite a bit differently and perhaps a bit better as well. Although I thought I could, I found that I lacked the actual motivation to move from the speculative phase to actually doing something about it. This last weekend I went to a festival and throughout it I saw the same exact model of quadcopter and GoPro camera strapped to its underbelly. I again thought to myself "man, I could do that with better results..." I had found something in myself after that event that something really lit a fire inside me and gave me the the passion that I saw a possibility that my prior "hobbies" have led me to believe that I can really do something about both my low income job (that I happen to love) and travel while giving people a way to convey their events, businesses, etc. and help us all grow in more than one way. So here I am. after a week of wondering IF I can do something to knowing I can do something better and more efficiently and come out on top with a better product after all of these years of people telling me what to do to live happily I have found a path before me and I wish to take it. This is the beginning of a journey for me and a few friends as a new business. This is my first post but will definitely not be my last. I will keep this page as updated as I can.
TL;DR: Hi, I will fly cameras soon.
